Mayor of London cycling legacy event in August 2013 announced

The Mayor of London announced plans for a two-day festival of cycling, which will take place in August 2013, providing a cycling legacy after the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Up to 70,000 people will take part in a family festival in London on day one and day two will see up to 35,000 amateur, club and world-class elite cyclists taking part in a 100-mile road race, which will begin at the Olympic Park, head towards Surrey and is likely to follow much of the route of the Olympic Road Cycling Race.
The Mayor of London’s Office will be working with Transport for London and Surrey County Council on the exact route of the race.  We will be in touch later this year once we have more details.
